We're doing everything we can to safely meet the demand

Dear Customers and Friends,

Thank you so very much for your orders, and interest in both our company, and in gardening in general. We are so inspired to see this surge in interest in home gardening, and we will continue to do everything in our power to meet this demand and deliver your gardens as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize for the delays associated with this virus, and we are working diligently to responsibly expand our staff, while prioritizing safety for our employees and customers.

Despite our Shark Tank "success" and features on TV, we are still a small business based out of a 12,000 person town in Middlebury, Vermont. We build each product by hand, on machines that we built, in a factory space that is limited in size. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we, like nearly every business, have experienced our share of difficulties.

The exponentially increased interest in gardening has caused many seed suppliers to run out of stock, experience delays, or cease sales entirely to everyone except commercial farmers to ensure they can continue to grow our nation's food. While we as a company are extremely fortunate to be deemed an essential service by our Vermont government, several of our other raw material suppliers aren't, and we've had to navigate sourcing and transportation from new vendors.

What are we doing about it?

We have now quintupled our production staff, hired six new customer service associates, and are currently working triple-shifts 7days/week. We are limited in our production capacity due to social-distance guidelines, and can't simply add more employees to an already small space, so we're extending our hours, adding shifts, and switching to espresso blend. Predicting our delay time has been immensely challenging in this unprecedented environment, not only because we don't know what guidelines our government will impose next, but also because we are increasing our production output on a weekly basis as we hire and train new employees. As of 6/10/20 here is our latest estimate of delays:

-Orders from 3/19-4/1: 2-3 Week Delay

-Orders from 4/1-4/15: 4-5 Week Delay

-Orders from 4/16-5/1: 6-8 Week Delay

-Orders from 5/2-5/30: 6-8 Week Delay

Late plantings, cancellations, and refunds

We get it, as kids we all learned that April showers bring May flowers. However, we do specifically source the fastest-growing seed varieties possible, so it is entirely fine to plant a Seedsheet 1-2 months after you normally would start a garden. We also have a Greenthumb Guarantee, and we'll replace any failed pods free of charge. But, we also understand that as a country we are all in uncertain positions, and we are happy to offer refunds and cancellations if your order hasn't been manufactured yet. Please email, and we promise that we will get back to you as quickly as we can, and again, we apologize for slower than usual replies as our new Customer Service employees are trained and added.

At the end of the day, our mission remains the same; to democratize gardening and empower anyone to grow healthy food at home. We have always emphasized health, and we will continue to make sure that our customers are getting the best gardening product possible, and that our employees can feel confident that they are coming to work in a safe environment. We ask for your patience and understanding as we try our hardest to navigate this unprecedented situation.

Thank you so very much, and we look forward to gardening with you! πŸ‘πŸ₯•πŸ˜·πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸŒΏ
