ABOUT US
We’re plant people who’ve killed our fair share of succulents and have celebrated every new leaf as if it were a miracle. One day, your plant is fine, the next day, you’re asking the internet what went wrong.
So, pull up a chair. This space is for both.
What We're All About
This website exists because gardening shouldn’t feel like you need a degree to figure it out. We started this as a place where real answers meet real problems; the kind you’re dealing with on a Tuesday afternoon when your fiddle leaf fig is dropping leaves, or Saturday morning when you’re staring at holes in your tomato plants, wondering what’s eating them.
No gatekeeping. No pretending everything works the first time.
The People Behind the Plants
Our team is made up of people who’ve gotten their hands dirty for years; sometimes literally, sometimes figuratively. We’ve worked in greenhouses, rebuilt landscapes after storms, dealt with invasions of every pest imaginable, and built more raised beds and garden structures than we care to count.
Here’s who’s helping you figure things out:
Sarah Martinez is a horticulturist and plant science specialist who’s been solving plant problems since 2013. With a degree in Plant Science and certifications in indoor plant care, she’s worked in commercial greenhouses, botanical gardens, and countless homes where plants just won’t cooperate. Sarah specializes in diagnosing what’s wrong when your plants start looking questionable, and she explains solutions in ways that make sense to regular people, not just other horticulturists.
Harry Collins brings over 15 years of hands-on gardening experience and a degree in Landscape Management. He’s worked with everything from cramped city balconies to sprawling perennial gardens, and he’s known for taking complex plant science and breaking it down into steps you can actually follow. Harry spent five years managing community gardens before going independent, and he’s tested more heirloom varieties than most seed catalogs carry. When he writes, he assumes you’re busy and just want to know what to do next.
Marcus Chen has been managing garden pests since 2015 and holds certifications as an Integrated Pest Management Specialist and in Organic Pest Control. He’s led workshops for garden centers, written for regional gardening publications, and helped both home gardeners and small farms deal with everything from aphids to Japanese beetles. Marcus believes in smart pest management, not scorched earth tactics, and his advice focuses on keeping problems under control without losing your sanity or your ecosystem.
Lisa Harper has 15 years of experience in home improvement and outdoor design, with a background in Interior Design and Landscape Architecture. She’s built fences, redesigned kitchens, planned garden layouts, and tackled the kinds of projects most people bookmark for “someday.” Lisa’s approach is refreshingly honest about what projects actually cost, how long they take, and whether they’re worth the effort. She’s written for home improvement blogs and led DIY workshops, always with an eye toward helping people understand what they’re getting into before they start.
Rebecca Torres is a DIY specialist with 8 years of hands-on building experience and certifications in carpentry and outdoor construction. She’s helped hundreds of people build garden structures, from simple raised beds to complex pergolas and fencing systems. Rebecca’s gift is making intimidating projects feel manageable; her guides break everything down into clear steps with realistic timelines. Before going full-time with DIY consulting, she worked in construction and landscape installation, so she knows what holds up and what doesn’t.
Daniel Mercer spent 12 years in residential contracting before he started writing about it. He holds a certification in construction management and has written for several home improvement publications across the US. He’s here to help homeowners tackle repairs and renovations without the overwhelm, and when he’s not writing, he’s usually scouting salvage yards for his next project.
