There's a common misconception that you can only plant gardens in the Spring, and we blame kindergarten limericks. The Fall is actually one of the best times to start a garden! For Southern states, Autumn brings a respite from hot temperatures, and for the rest of the country fast-growing cold-tolerant crops thrive!
If you've ever bought a CSA before from a local farm, you know that you can get delicious quality food throughout most of the year! That's because farmers constantly rotate their crops to harvest ripe produce, and then replant with new seasonal crops.
Greens, Peas, Beans
Greens & Roots
Generally speaking, you can always be growing something! In the Spring you plant and harvest fast-growing cold-tolerant greens, peas and beans. In the Summer you harvest those delicious sun-kissed tomatoes. In the Fall the slower fruiting pumpkins, peppers, and melons are ready for the table. From the Fall through the Winter you can enjoy spinach, kale, chard, carrots, beets, radishes, beans, broccoli, and cauliflower.
Design your ideal garden by first selecting the size you'd like, and then choose whether you'd prefer large plants like tomatoes and corn, or small plants like greens and herbs. Depending on your selections, our software will filter your available options to provide a mixture of compatible options for you to build the perfect plot.
